Meet your veterinarian...

Dr. Catherine Lindstrand graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine with plans to become an equine veterinarian. Little did she know, life had different plans in store for her! Dr. Lindstrand found her passion in feline medicine, and she opened the Isabella Cat Clinic in Mount Pleasant in 1998. She continued her education by becoming a certified veterinary acupuncturist, and is an active member of International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. After years of practicing, Dr. Lindstrand found that she had an additional passion for hospice care, which lead to the idea of adding hospice care and in-home euthanasia services to her practice, thus, we officially formed Animal Hospice of Mid-Michigan in 2023!

Requirements for Services

1

Fill Out New Client Forms

We will e-mail you our new client forms to fill out once you reach out to us inquiring about our services. You may send the completed paperwork back via e-mail, fax, or mail. An appointment cannot be scheduled until paperwork is completed. Click the below photo to be taken to the website to fill out your forms!

2

Have your veterinarian send us medical records for your pet

Our doctor requires your pet's medical records to be sent to us before services can be offered. This is so that she can familiarize herself with any ongoing medical conditions that your pet has, as well as check on what has been recommended by your primary care veterinarian. If you do not have a primary veterinarian, we cannot provide services to your pet because we do work on a referral basis.

3

Schedule a consultation exam for your pet with our doctor

Our doctor requires a consultation examination to be done with you and your pet before services can be offered. This allows us to legally establish a doctor-patient-client relationship, and ensures that she is comfortable moving forward with services based on your concerns and your pets condition. This examination can be done at one of our two office locations, or in your home (travel fees apply).

Services Offered

IN-HOME EUTHANASIA

Saying goodbye to our beloved pets is one of the hardest things we endure in life. We know how important it is to be able to give them the most peaceful goodbye possible from the comfort of your home, which is why we are honored to be able to offer these services to the Mid-Michigan area. In-home euthanasia services are offered to all species of animals. Veterinary records are required from your primary care veterinarian before services can be offered, as well as an examination by our doctor.

Some patients are even able to come off their long-term pain management drugs with an appropriate laser therapy regiment! Some conditions we can help treat with laser therapy are osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, CCL injuries, muscle/tendon injuries, post-surgical incisions, wounds, IVDD, lick granulomas, and more!

HOSPICE NURSING CARE

If your pet has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is currently on kitty or puppy "hospice", or if your pet is elderly and it's difficult to care for him/her, we are happy to offer our in-home hospice services to you. We can provide services such as in-home pain relief (laser therapy and acupuncture), as well as help with things such as fluid administration, bathing, grooming, etc. Cost varies depending on time spent with patient, and time and distance traveled to reach you. Records from your primary veterinarian would be needed for Dr. Lindstrand's review before any visits are performed. We would also require a consultation exam with you and your pet beforehand to discuss your goals and needs.
