Animal Hospice of Mid-Michigan
Offering hospice care, pain management, nursing care, and in-home euthanasia services to all species of animals.

Meet your veterinarian...
Dr. Catherine Lindstrand graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine with plans to become an equine veterinarian. Little did she know, life had different plans in store for her! Dr. Lindstrand found her passion in feline medicine, and she opened the Isabella Cat Clinic in Mount Pleasant in 1998. She continued her education by becoming a certified veterinary acupuncturist, and is an active member of International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. After years of practicing, Dr. Lindstrand found that she had an additional passion for hospice care, which lead to the idea of adding hospice care and in-home euthanasia services to her practice, thus, we officially formed Animal Hospice of Mid-Michigan in 2023!
Services Offered
IN-HOME EUTHANASIA

Saying goodbye to our beloved pets is one of the hardest things we endure in life. We know how important it is to be able to give them the most peaceful goodbye possible from the comfort of your home, which is why we are honored to be able to offer these services to the Mid-Michigan area. In-home euthanasia services are offered to all species of animals. Veterinary records are required from your primary care veterinarian before services can be offered. A telemedicine consult may also be required.
CLASS IV LASER THERAPY

Class IV laser therapy is proven to stimulate tissue repair/growth, accelerates wound healing and decreases inflammation, pain, and scar tissue formation. Some patients are even able to come off their long-term pain management drugs with an appropriate laser therapy regiment! Some conditions we can help treat with laser therapy are osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, CCL injuries, muscle/tendon injuries, post-surgical incisions, wounds, IVDD, lick granulomas, and more!
HOSPICE NURSING CARE

If your pet has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is currently on kitty or puppy "hospice", or if your pet is elderly and it's difficult to care for him/her, we are happy to offer our in-home hospice services to you. We can provide services such as in-home pain relief (laser therapy and acupuncture), as well as help with things such as fluid administration, bathing, grooming, etc. Cost varies depending on time spent with patient, and time and distance traveled to reach you. Records from your primary veterinarian would be needed for Dr. Lindstrand's review before any visits are performed. We would also require a virtual consultation with you beforehand to discuss your goals and needs.
ACUPUNCTURE

Most simply stated, acupuncture is the stimulation of certain points on the body to achieve a healing effect by altering biochemistry and physiology. Acupuncture can be used by itself or in conjunction with western medicine. Acupuncture can be a beneficial treatment for a variety of conditions, such as relieving pain/inflammation associated with arthritis, hip dysplasia, spinal disc disease, as well as general pain caused by injury, disease, and age. It is also a beneficial treatment for the relief of gastrointestinal, neurologic, respiratory and cardiac problems, as well as stimulating appetite and maintaining the immune system.
ELECTROMAGNETIC THERAPY (ASSISI LOOP)

Assisi LOOP is a medical device that emits a targeted, pulsed electromagnetic field designed to reduce inflammation, decrease pain and enhance healing in soft tissue and bone. The electromagnetic pulses penetrate through wraps, dressings, and casts. It is FDA approved for pain relief and as a drug-free anti-inflammatory device. These devices can be purchased and used at home by you!
